Presence of mind helps, never panic !!!

In a shop a man asked for 1/2 kg of butter. The salesperson, a young boy, said that only 1kg packs were available in the shop, but the man insisted on buying only 1/2 kg. So the boy went inside to the manager's room and said "An idiot outside wants to buy only 1/2 kg of butter". To his surprise, the customer was standing behind him. So the boy added immediately, "And this gentleman wants to buy the other half !!!!!!".

After the customer left, the manager said "You have saved your position by being clever enough at the right time. Where do you come from?"

To this the boy said, "I come from Mexico. The place consists of only prostitutes and football players !!!!!"

The manager replied coldly, "My wife is also from Mexico".

To this the boy asked excitedly, "Oh yeah? Which team does she play for?"

Presence of mind helps, never panic !!!

Humour... Nice one.

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closed it slowly and said to the stranger, 'What would you like to talk about?'

'Oh, I don't know,' said the stranger. 'How about nuclear power?' and he smiles.

OK, ' she said. 'That could be an interesting topic.
But let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass - . Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?'

The stranger, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea.'

To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to discuss nuclear power when you don't know shit?

How I feel has nothing to do with how much I have.

You will never know what the total cost of your education was, but for a lifetime you will recall and relive the memories of schools and colleges. Few years from now, you will forget the amount you paid to settle the hospitalization bill, but will ever cherish having saved your mother's life or the life you get to live with the just born. You won't remember the cost of your honeymoon, but to the last breath remember the experiences of the bliss of togetherness. Money has no memory. Experience has.

Good times and bad times, times of prosperity and times of poverty, times when the future looked so secure and times when you didn't know from where the tomorrow will come... life has been in one way or the other a roller-coaster ride for everyone. Beyond all that abundance and beyond all that deprivation, what remains is the memory of experiences. Sometimes the wallet was full... sometimes even the pocket was empty. There was enough and you still had reasons to frown. There wasn't enough and you still had reasons to smile. Today, you can look back with tears of gratitude for all the times you had laughed together, and also look back with a smile at all the times you cried alone. All in all, life filled you with experiences to create a history of your own self, and you alone can remember them all.

The first time you balanced yourself on your cycle without support... The first time she said 'yes' and it was two years since you proposed... The first cry... the first steps... the first word... the first kiss... all of your child... The first gift you bought for your parents and the first gift your daughter gave you... The first award... the first public appreciation... the first stage performance... And the list is endless... Experiences, with timeless memory... No denying that anything that's material cost money, but the fact remains the cost of the experience will be forgotten, but the experience never.
So, what if it's economic recession? Let it be, but let there not be a recession to the quality of your life. You can still take your parents, if not on a pilgrimage, at least to the local temple. You can still play with your children, if not on an international holiday, at least in the local park. It doesn't cost money to lie down or to take a loved one onto your lap. Nice time to train the employees, create leadership availability and be ready for the wonderful times when they arrive. Hey! Aspects like your health, knowledge development and spiritual growth are not economy dependent.
Time will pass... economy will revive... currency will soon be in current... and in all this; I don't want you to look back and realize you did nothing but stayed in gloom. Recession can make you lose out on money. Let it not make you lose out on experiences... If you are not happy with what you have, no matter how much more you have, you will still not be happy.

Make a statement with the way you live your life: How I feel has nothing to do with how much I have.

Pseudo nationalism

The feeling of love and pride in your nation, a feeling that your country is no less when compared with others, an ambition for contributing towards national progress……. This is what constitutes true nationalism!!!!

Do we really have such feelings??? Are we not pretending??? Are we ready to sacrifice our personal interest over national interest??? These questions take us to the caption of today’s debate i.e. “pseudo nationalism” and I strongly stand for the motion.

Today Kashmir and many northeastern regions are demanding separation from India. Regionalism is dominating over nationalism. Naxalism is spreading its wings across the length and breadth of the country. They proclaim themselves to be unorthodox social reformers. But do they really think of national interests??? It is very clear that such factions never rise beyond their parochial interests to think of country as a whole.

Indian politics has become POLYTRICKS. The politicians, who are supposed to be the makers and molders of destiny of any country, stoop to any level for the sake of power. Instead of solving the fundamental problems like poverty, unemployment, illiteracy; they are busy in filling their own coffers.

How can then we expect the country to pursue national interest in true spirit where the very leadership is engaged fulfilling their own interest.

The pass outs of renowned institutions like IIT & IIMs never hesitate in moving out of this country for lucrative jobs. They never think of paying back the country what it has given them in the form of subsidized education. These intelligentsia don’t leave any stone unturned for getting citizenship of US & European nations.

Everyone jumped out from their couch when Bindra or Sushil or Vijender won a medal in Olympics but eyebrows will be raised if anybody asks for contributions against training of future Olympians. People readily criticize the government for poor infrastructure, but so also towards the taxation policies that are meant to comply such needs. Nationalism in present era is only taken as fluttering the national flag & chanting national slogans.

Owing to the crunch of time I would like to wrap up my subject with these words that-The nationalism we posses today is like the froth in the beer bottle which looks exquisite but is futile.
